Q. My deleted, sent and draft emails are not saved to the correct folder when using IMAP and Mac Mail.app
A. This is a problem with the Mac Mail.app and there is an easy fix. First you need to make sure the IMAP prefix path is set. You will find this at MAIL->Preferences->Accounts->Advanced. Set the prefix path to "INBOX" without the quotes if it is not already set.
Once this is done in order for Mac Mail.app to know which folders to use you will have to instruct it which ones to use for each of the three folders: Sent, Deleted and Drafts. To do this select the folder you want to use for the Sent mail folder and assign it using the Mailbox -> Use This Mailbox For -> Sent menu item. Do the same for Deleted and Drafts.
